Why Presov Should Be In Your Vacation Bucket List

Follow your heart and travel to the city of Presov in Slovakia and it will find a place in your heart, for beauty of the city and above all the people and their cultural practices. Presov is designated as the metropolis of the Saris region and third largest city in Slovakia, home to beyond 100,000 populations.

Walk through the city centre, the old avenues, city squares, parks and the neighborhood breathing the fragrance of rich history of the city. While your stroll to take a romantic city drive enjoying the friendly weather sip on the hot mead from the Christmas market or drink their all time special mulled wine.
Taking the city tour, you will experience one age to another time to time. Below will be a trailer of that journey in the city of Presov you would love to take.

Roman Catholic Church of St. Nicholas Towers
This is the largest building of Presov located in the weirdest part of peculiar polygon. This building is measured to be 55 meters long and about 35 meters wide integrated to a 71 meter high tower. Enter this historical site to find some great art work, baroque decors and sculptures by Jan Weiss, Master Pual from Levoca and three sculptures from the remaining original gothic adornments.

From The Early Modern Time: The Statue of Caraffa of 1903
On one corner of the Lutheran college in the city square of Presov, find the statue of Caraffa, after the general from Naples, Italy; Count Antonio Caraffa who in the late 1600s became the papal nuncio in Vienna. The unappealing statue is structured depicting Caffara ‘with hooded figure of death peering over his shoulder. There is huge history of ‘Bloody Trial’ behind this inspirational art work.

20th Century Town Hall
Presov was called the ‘Athens over Torsya’ in the early 20th century, for its rising inclination toward culture and education. Back in the 1900 Presov was a smaller town nurturing merely 14447 people.
